This Company is owned by
Samantha and she is helped by her Father Angelo and her Brother Danny.
They originally took the measurements of our three kitchens and utility
room back in February 2007. We paid 3000 euros as a deposit to
hold the price because we knew it would be sometime before we could
progress.
Unfortunately due the extended
build process, we were unable to commence with the installation of the
kitchens until February 2008, where upon we were requested to pay
another installment of the monies owing.
We paid another 5000 euros as
agreed and the kitchen carcasses were installed with in a short period
of time (April 08). This is when the problems started, they
requested we attend a meeting in their unit on the Antas Poligono, which
we duly did so. They said they were going to put the total price
for the kitchens up and that we had to agree and sign to that effect.
Needless to say we disagreed with this, because we had paid a holding
deposit of 3000 euros which held the price and they had had this money
for in excess of one year.
The end result was that they
forced us into a corner stating that they would not supply anymore of
the kitchens without this agreement - blackmailing us. We
eventually agreed to a lower price - representing 1000 euros more than
the original price. They proceeded to request the next installment
so they could proceed with the kitchen installation. We duly paid
another 3000 euros and awaited the arrival of the next part of the
kitchen - the Granite worktops. This money was paid in May 2008,
we received another phone call, explaining that they were experiencing a
little cash flow problem and that the 3000 euros was only half of the
cost of the granite and they were unable to purchase it unless we
paid another 4500 euros. We declined, and agreed to pay another
2000 euros on the proviso the granite worktops would be with us within
ten days, which they agreed and promised would be the case.
After ten days we rang them
to find out where the granite was and when they were coming to install
it. The answer we got was unbelievable - they stated 'the
factory had fabricated the worktops, but in the wrong material' they
then proceeded to tell us that they were on the case and we would have
our granite within the next two weeks. Needless to say they still
haven't delivered the granite to this day. We were lied to
throughout this process and when we started to get a little irate we
were told in no uncertain terms by Samantha that if we wanted to take
them to court for our money she would see us there in four years.
After hundreds of phone calls
and many visits to their unit, and being given many different excuses.
Also being told that they were on the brink of winning an large order
that would sort all their problems out. They suddenly disappeared
from the Antas Poligono without a trace. We tried all their
telephone numbers relentlessly and even tried a few contacts back in
Blighty - to no avail. Now, we knew they lived in Turre, but for
one reason or another we were unable to trace them. Until recently
that is, we recently read through the focus magazine and saw that LJD
Kitchens had suddenly sprung up again and that they were now operating
from Turre. We know it is the same people, because we have rung
the mobile number which originally did not answer, but the next day my
phone rang and who should be on the other end, low and behold it was Danny -
he did not catch on to whom we were and we asked where their showroom was.
He stated that they had just closed down their business on the Antas
Poligono, because the financial climate had slowed things down and that
they were now operating from home and that he would be happy to show
us their samples etc.
We just hope that this little
article will put them out of business for good and that they would crawl
back under the rock that they come from in the UK. If you -
Samantha or your lying Father or Brother read this, lets see you take us
to court for slander or libel if you dare - we will see you there in
four years!!!!
